Music: Mixtape Heaven

I would venture to say that Drake revolutionized the mixtape game. This is not to say that people had NOT been releasing well produced mixtapes before Drake arrived, but it was something about Drake's "So Far Gone" that made the release of a great mixtape a necessity for any musician trying to get in the game. With this new "Mixtape Era" we are continuously blessed with musical dopeness. Two mixtapes in rotation these days is Nitty Scott, MC's "The Cassette Chronicles". and our G.O.O.D. friend, Pusha T. Both are a must listen!

Just Get To Know: Joi Starr

Being the huge Kanye West fan that I am, Joi Starr is no stranger to me. If you've ever seen Kanye perform live and with backing vocals then you have most likely already gotten a taste of Joi Starr. She came to perform with Kanye shortly after starting on a solo project and what was suppose to be a short gig lasted more than five years! Joi's voice is big, colorful and adaptable to a variety of genres. I am SUCH a fan. Joi is no stranger to the art of music and I am super excited to see what else she will serve us once her mixtape, Broccoli and Noodles, drops soon! Check her single, "Yellow" below.

Song of the Moment: All Back

After about three weeks of "Yeah 3x" in heavy rotation I finally have a new Chris Brown fave. I think what I enjoy most about this song are those vicious harmonies and Chris's genuine execution of the lyrics. You hear the track and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Chris really "wants it all back." (Or maybe having a glimpse into the whole Rih-Rih scandal makes this song seem genuine.) Take a listen and get into those dope drums and raw emotions!

Breezy eff baby...please say the baby...

But really, Chris Brown performed on Dancing With The Stars last night and KILLED it. He like, made everybody on DWTS who had something negative to say, eat their words. I'm glad Breezy is now focusing his energy on performing at his highest level and making great music. I've watched his "Yeah 3X" performance several times already. ENJOY!
